Monday Evenings - resuming in October, 2019
5:00 - 6:30
Ancient sacred manuscripts were illuminated. Scribes decorated the pages: gold gilded figures in the margins, filigree and calligraphy, decorative borders, even colorful dragon-like creatures from Celtic lore. Back then, monks did the work.
In this class. . . you are the urban monk; the modern scribe whose tools are a little different ~ but we will use our tools as they used theirs ~ to make our marks and illuminate the manuscripts.
Illumination is where human life, art form and experience come in contact with the black-letter pages of the manuscript, so the only experience necessary for this class is shelving of your own life.
I can get you started with a 3 – 6 week series.
We’ll set up a studio cart or cupboard shelf together, begin the practice with some ‘messy pages’ and "chunk Bibles" and off you go!
Send me an email with your circumstances and lets talk!
